I hate doing laundry.

Blades of Glory was really dumb.  My first clue should have been the MTV trademark at the beginning of the film.  They might as well flash a neon sign that reads, “Mindless, sexual, idiotic humor ahead”.  There goes an hour and a half of my life I’ll never get back. Honestly, there were a few good laughs…a few.  Most of it was stupid.  The previews looked kind of funny…I’m a sucker.
Still feeling a bit tired and achy.

I am LOVING the weather here.  It’s finally cooling down a bit – YEAH!   Remind me of my statement this winter when I get buried under 4 feet of snow! 😉

I’d love to visit some blogs today, but I have tons of work to get done before Heather T. spends the night with me.   So I’m just checking in.

I can’t figure out why I bother with social networking sites when I don’t even have time to nurture my own circle of friends.  My friend Heather H. (the massage therapist) invited me to get a myspace page.  I finally did so I could leave her comments.  I don’t know what the heck I’m doing with it.  I actually had an old college friend email me and tell me he saw that my profile said I’m single and wanted to know what happened. lol  I emailed him back and said I’m still happily married to Benny – I just don’t know what the heck I’m doing on myspace.  yikes!  I’d better get my act together…and soon!

My friend Tonya is really sick and could use your prayers.

My friend Jan sent me a pretty funny meme I’ll post later.

I’m in the middle of a Bible study that’s kicking my butt!

Did I mention that I hate doing laundry?

Prayer Update

I am incredibly grateful to all my friends who prayed for me yesterday and today. I believe prayer moves the hand of God and I have felt Him moving in me today. I am also VERY grateful for my friend Heather who is the world’s greatest massage therapist. 😉 While at her house today, she asked me about my foot. I immediately felt dumb for not thinking of calling her a few weeks ago when it started hurting. I gave her a little more detail than I did on my blog, and told her about the visit to Dr. Zack. (She goes to him too.) She examined my foot and pressed on my leg, and being the expert on muscles that she is, she narrowed it down to a few certain muscles. It hurt. lol We think the pain in my foot is really a problem in my leg. She used a massaging torture device on me along with some biofreeze (it’s like icy hot) and told me to keep taking deep breaths. Evidently I tend to hold my breath when in pain. Not good. I left her house a little swollen and sore, but optimistic about the healing I know is coming. She is going to work on me again next week if I still need it. Between her, Dr. Zack, all of my praying friends, and the Great Healer Himself, I’m in good hands! Heather is one of the biggest blessings I’ve received while living in Denver. Not because of her massage skills – this is actually the first time she’s worked on me – but because she’s a great friend. We are iron sharpening iron when we’re together and I love her like a sister! I appreciate your continued prayers as I heal. The fatigue and achiness is a little better today, but still there. I’m resting.

Heather smiled at me as she told Benny that I needed to take it easy for a few days. She said I had permission to sit on the couch watching soap operas and eating bon-bons all day. Benny said, “How is that different from any other day?” Before I could punch him in the arm, Heather replied, “She doesn’t usually watch soaps.” Don’t you just feel the love from these two??

Tomorrow is the first day of Friday School. Our whole family is excited. It’s a nice finish to this week. We love Friday school! I’m also looking forward to Saturday. I think it’s going to be another pajama day at our house…we’ll see. All I know is that I’ll be resting..

I’m off to watch Blades of Glory with Benny…

My left foot has been hurting for a few weeks and it did not start with an injury. I went to Dr. Zack today and after adjusting my foot and leg – which was painful – he said it’s possible I may have a hairline stress fracture in my foot because of where it hurts when it bends or is manipulated.  But he thinks it is more likely that my muscles in that foot are clenched while my arch if falling slightly.  It’s pulling the muscles in the foot and up into my calves tight in a way they shouldn’t be and that’s what is so painful.  He gave me some exercises to do, and I am praying for complete healing of course. I know it will come.  Please join me in my prayers.  One more thing.  As we were driving home from Dr. Zack’s I was suddenly overwhelmed with an achiness and tiredness that I’ve only felt a few times in my life…usually when I’ve had a severe case of the flu.  My guys prayed for me and when I got home, I napped for 4 hours.  I don’t nap.  It was very strange and I am feeling fine now, but I think I’m facing some spiritual warfare.  I have been feeling a bit sluggish for a day or two, but not sick.  Please pray for healing for me and protection for me and my family.

And the Winner is…

Cynthia Hinkle!

Congratulations Cynthia, and welcome to MY Journey!

I’m Nice…I really am. ;)

nice-matters-award.jpg

This award has been floating around lately and I’m happy to have received it from three fabulous ladies in the past two weeks. Does three make it a consensus? 😉 Thank you so much Sally, Tonya, and Jan! You are all so sweet. I’m sorry it took me so long to post it and link back to you. Since my web friends are all giving it to each other, it’s hard to not repeat who is getting it. ALL of my web friends are nice – or they wouldn’t be my friends.

So today I’d like to pass it on to a few friends who are deserving and I haven’t seen this on their blogs yet. So, Tawnya, Jennifer, Jennifer, Tonia, Jetty Betty, and Peach…I think you’re nice and deserve a reward for it today!

*Book Friends: Today is the last day to put your name in the hat for Allison’s book. I’ll have one of the Nowell children draw a name tomorrow morning at breakfast. Time is running out…email me now! 😉
