Coming Up For Air

Oh good. You haven’t totally given up on me ever blogging again! I’m still here, though I’ve been swimming in a sea of boxes and tubs and crumpled newspaper and you get the picture. We officially have all of our stuff moved in, and we’re mostly unpacked. We still don’t have the computer hooked up or the internet service ordered. We’re in B.V. for the weekend to have a huge garage sale with my inlaws, and so Benny can build us a headboard for our bed. So far I’ve made enough money with the sale to pay our lot rent for June! Not bad, huh? Getting rid of junk has never been more rewarding! HaHa!

A quick update on the past couple of weeks…

I love our house! God has truly blessed us!

We are at 35% of our needed monthly support. We’ve taken the past two weeks off to get moved and settled, and now I’m starting to feel a little panicky. I am constantly reminding myself that one of God’s names is THE LORD PROVIDES!

We have new cell phones, which I’m excited about because it is our source of long distance calls, and because our old ones were junk. Contracts stink!

My friends are officially divorced now and I’m still sad. Now that all is said and done, I can tell you that it was my best friend Laurie and my brother Lennie. I’m very close to both of them, and plan to stay that way. But, it’s been hard.

We enjoyed worshipping at Lakewood last weekend, and seeing the Wallaces and Goldmans. We even ran into Travis, a guy we haven’t seen since college. What a suprise!

Mother’s Day was o.k.

Hopefully we’ll be online at home again soon. I miss blogging and I didn’t enjoy reading 62 emails in one sitting. I miss reading the insights and humor of my blogging friends.

One more thing…Toine! I’m going to start blocking your emails if you don’t quit sending me forwards!

Please keep checking back, I’ll come up for air again soon…hopefully for good.

12 years ago today I became Mrs. Benny Nowell! I can’t believe it’s been that long. Benny enjoys telling people we married on this date in honor of our Spanish heritage! Somehow my red hair, very pale skin, and blue/green eyes aren’t too convincing.

We will officially be moved into our new home tomorrow. We are so excited! We have been so busy painting and making improvements, and traveling back and forth between Buena Vista and Denver (3 hour drive), that there has been no time to blog. Never fear, our computer will be hooked back up in a few days, and I’ll be back to rambling before you know it. BTW, since I posted that I don’t read email FWD’s, the number I receive has increased! Ugh!

Max update: No night terrors, nightmares, or anything for a couple of weeks!!! YEAH!

See you back here next week, and God bless you all!

Since I read JettyBetty I’ve been tagged!

I am to answer any 5 of the following “if” questions. The “questions”:

If I could be a scientist…If I could be a farmer…If I could be a musician…If I could be a doctor…If I could be a painter…If I could be a gardener…If I could be a missionary…If I could be a chef…If I could be an architect…If I could be a linguist…If I could be a psychologist…If I could be a librarian…If I could be an athlete…If I could be a lawyer…If I could be an inn-keeper…If I could be a professor…If I could be a writer…If I could be a llama-rider…If I could be a bonnie pirate…If I could be an astronaut…If I could be a world famous blogger…If I could be a justice on any one court in the world…If I could be married to any current famous political figure…

If I could be a Scientist, I would create a super food that anyone could grow anywhere and wipe out world hunger.

If I could be a chef, I would never again burn a pan of water so badly that the pan melted onto the burner. (true story)

If I could be a bonnie pirate, I’d make sure Johnny Depp was my captain.

If I could be a world famous blogger, I would spread God’s message of forgiveness and love, and do my best to change the image of Christians.

If I could be a gardener, oh who am I kidding???

BTW, I’m already many of those things as a woman and a mother!

Virtual Cartwheels

I’m doing them right now! We are now the proud owners of a 24 x 63 Hacienda! Everything went smoothly at the closing, and we spent our first night in our new home. Benny and I stayed up late dreaming and planning out what and how we’re going to paint. 1970’s brown paneling doesn’t do it for us. We found the colors we liked, and bought the paint today. (Yeah Wal*Mart!) We were supposed to drive back to Buena Vista today since Benny’s parents were returning home from their trip, then all of us go back to Denver to paint on Saturday. However, Benny decided that he and Max would stay in Denver until Saturday to prep the house for paint. (Stinker!) So, I returned to B.V. with Zoe and Petey by myself. (We didn’t pack enough clothes and diapers to stay too.) I was a little nervous about the 3 hour trek back through the mountains, at night, in the snow, with Elk lurking in the hills, and people that lack the sense to turn their brights off when they see another vehicle coming. Alas, we arrived safely! Once again, having a cell phone was a security and a luxury I was VERY thankful to have.

So, it’s official…after months of prayer, worrying, prayer, crying, prayer, and did I mention prayer? We live in Denver and we’re a part of Dry Bones. We’re very excited and extremely grateful to everyone who has been praying with and for us. God bless you all! (Ya’ll for our southern friends):) I can’t wait to see what God’s going to do next!

Please pray for our friends Matt & Nikki Wallace as they travel to Texas to walk with Jeff Robinson for a few days. Remember him in your prayers too! He’s the guy walking from Galveston, TX to Denver to raise awareness and money for DBDenver. He’s wearing out his walking shoes pretty fast. Check out his website again at www.walkingtodenver.com .
